The Dream Omelette
July 30, 2008 by Bold Foodie · Leave a Comment
Not sure how I came to watch this video because it didn’t strike me as particularly exciting, but tomorrow being a work-from-home day watching a video about a dreamy omelet seemed like a good idea.
What I thought was a dreamy tasting omelet was actually an omelet this chef concocted while having a dream! Now I’ve had plenty of dreams, but the ones that are remotely similar to his wildly imaginative dream were a result of sleeping past 10 am or the morning after consuming too many adult beverages!
It’s a funny short video and worth a watch. One thing that stuck out worse then a sore thumb was the blurb at the end of the news story about staying tuned in to the news station to learn how to turn your autistic child into a tax deduction! Jeepers! I didn’t catch where this news station was located, but I’m pretty sure it was in the twilight zone!!
Seducing a Man With Food

Love U educates women on how to use food to get what they want from their man. Pretty much nailed it on the end except I didn’t hear the lawn mower start up or see him taking the trash out the door. Clearly some fiction in with some reality.
The Perfect Filet Mignon by Chef Markus
March 2, 2008 by Bold Foodie · 1 Comment
It’s March and with the weather in the DC area beginning to resemble something intended for humans instead of penguins, it’s time to think about grilling some steaks.
But, before we move to the outdoor grill let’s prepare filet mignon indoors. Simple and delicious.
Please don’t watch this on an empty stomach. It’s 5:30 minutes and well worth the time if you’re a carnivore like me.

Learn to Read German Wine Labels

As in Burgundy, Germany’s vineyards were identified by Cistercian monks. The results: precisely defined vineyards and layers of classifications. Alison Napjus, Tasting Coordinator for Wine Spectator, offers some instruction to help you decode the labels and enjoy the noteworthy wines of Germany. (Tasting Coordinator!? I want that job!) (3:51)
DadLabs – Holiday Wines
December 5, 2007 by Bold Foodie · Leave a Comment
DadLabs produced this short video (3:44) to share some of their opinions on some wines for the holidays. They may have borrowed a few ideas from Wine Library TV, but they gave appropriate credits where due. We’ll have to send them some wine glasses to replace their plastic cups with, but otherwise fairly civilized snapshot into the world of dad’s wine tasting methodology.
Grab a wine glass and a bottle of wine (beer works if you don’t keep wine around) and enjoy the show!
How to Open a Bottle of Champagne

John Fischer of the Culinary Institute of America demonstrates how to open a bottle of champagne just in time for the holidays! (6:44)
Did you know it was illegal to call sparkling wine that isn’t from Champagne France “champagne”? It is! Don’t turn yourself into the local police yet though because it isn’t strictly enforced here in the U.S. as it has been in Europe.
Two important lessons about opening champagne we learn in this video is about how to open a bottle safely and why it’s important to make as little a “popping” sound as possible when removing the cork. Happy holidays!
